Fireworks lets you modify a mask group anytime. You can modify the edges of the top mask object to create impressive effects. For example, you might apply a feather edge to the top mask object as shown in the following illustration.

When the mask group is selected, the attributes of the top object are reflected in the Fill panel, the Stroke panel, and the Effect panel.
To convert a selected path mask to an image mask:

In the Object inspector, choose Image as the Mask option. |

Choose Modify > Mask Group > Mask to Image. |
To convert a selected image mask to a path mask:

To convert a selected normal group to a mask group:

To subselect objects within a mask group:
